April 02, 2014

Qualfon, a global business process outsourcing (BPO) provider, has announced its intention to inauguarate a new contact center in Harlingen, Texas, which would make way for the company to create new job opportunities in the second half of 2014.

With a track record of customer care growth, Qualfon has serviced its BPO clients since it was founded in 1996. Today, the company has over 10,000 call center agents servicing its international base of clients in the Philippines, Guyana, Mexico, Costa Rica, and the U.S.

The new contact center is a two-story building located just off N. Ed Carey Drive and has the capacity to accomodate 600 employees and can also employ up to 1,000 people when at capacity. Qualfon will soon fill in the vaccancies in the areas such as customer care, tech support, sales, customer retention programs, as well as back-office services.

“Harlingen is the ideal location for our newest world-class facility because of its economic strengths, its 335,000 residents in the immediate area, and its high-caliber workforce,” said Mike Marrow, Qualfon CEO. The Harlingen area offers a large student population (more than 30,000 students) and a high percentage of bilinguals, enabling Qualfon to provide services in Spanish as well as English.

To manage the whole Harlingen operation, Qualfon has appointed new director, Kevin Kavanaugh, as a Site Director for Harlingen. For the past two decades, Kavanaugh was involved in starting and operating his own contact center company called Kavanaugh Call Center Group, where he managed both business management and other contact center operations.

"Harlingen has been cited as one of the best, least expensive places to live in the USA,” added Marrow. “We think it is terrific that we can offer meaningful jobs in a great place to live. That goes a long ways towards supporting our mission to Be the Best BPO and make people’s lives better.”
