Are You Part of 'Call Center Planet'? Something to Consider!

March 28, 2013

I try and stay aware of virtually anything and everything that affects contact center solutions, but I’m always amazed what is out there. It was thus with more than a bit of surprise that in my sojourns around the Internet that I happened upon the site, “Call Center Planet: Community for offshore contact center and BPO people all over the world.

If you click on the site, you will see a couple of interesting things starting with the welcome from the site hosts:

We built this community in hopes that our friends and colleagues find it useful for meeting people and keeping up with contacts, build relationships and hopefully business partnerships particularly in the call center industry.

Hopefully you will meet nice people here. You can chat, share, write blogs, and have your say in discussions. In the future we will be adding more great stuff, so hang around, tell your friends and enjoy!

I like the fact that the community is welcoming, and that in a short time it seems to have developed a loyal following. In addition, if you look at the content that is accessible from the home page, it seems to have drawn both attention, and has links to some interesting – in some cases fanciful – stuff that really covers the landscape for those whose careers are in contact center solutions.

In fact, in an industry that for too long has taken itself very seriously, you might wish to watch the albeit long but very clever video, Call Center the Movie, which, while an oldie that you may have missed, is a funny and interesting way to see how far or not we have come as an industry.

This is not the only video on the site, and I must say that some of them were extremely instructive.

I’ve already bookmarked the site because of the diversity of perspectives it represents. This is a resource that is a bit chaotic, but it is also one that seems to be a reasonable way to keep a finger on the pulse of what is actually going on in contact centers.

I have joined, and as noted, will be checking in from time to time. The nice thing is this really provides a global view so keep Google Translate warmed up.
