Internap is Rated Second by Current Analysis for CDN Services

June 23, 2010

Current Analysis has ranked Internap's Content Delivery Network (CDN) second in its 2010 CDN Product Assessment report, the company has announced in a press release.

Internap has a rich heritage in the CDN space working closely with Adobe to develop the first Flash video streaming platform and being the first service provider to offer live and on-demand streaming services for Flash, claims the company.

Representing a wide range of industries, including: media and entertainment, online retailers, education, healthcare, financial services and others, Internap's CDN is used by customers worldwide. Current Analysis judged each CDN on a scale from one (noncompetitive) to five (outstanding) across the following buying criteria: performance, pricing, reach, reporting, Service Level Agreement (SLA), support and value-added offerings.

"Current Analysis' assessment of our CDN capabilities mirrors the feedback we are getting from our customers as to why they choose Internap. The trends we are seeing in the market show CDN moving beyond large media companies, and to a broader audience that increasingly need CDN services delivered with high performance, carrier-grade reliability and proactive customer support - our key strengths,' said Peter Evans, senior vice president of marketing at Internap.

Current Analysis assessed Internap as 'outstanding' in the performance, support and SLA categories. Internap was the only vendor to achieve an 'outstanding' rating in the SLA category, the report stated. Current Analysis feels that the combination of its hosting, IP connectivity and CDN puts Internap in a strong position to capitalize on demand for video streaming services as well as support large file transfer and content monetization.

Recently, the company announced Accelerated IP ("XIP"), a new service-based Internet traffic accelerator that can dramatically improve the performance of enterprise web services and applications by up to 400 percent. XIP - to be shown at Interop in Las Vegas, April 27-29 in booth 550 - complements Internap's worldwide Performance IP route-optimized network, resulting in end-to-end network and application optimization and a superior experience for end users.
