'On Hold' Wins Interactive Intelligence's Outrageous Interactions Video Contest

May 26, 2010

Contact center solutions provider Interactive Intelligence has announced the winner of its 2010 Outrageous Interactions video contest.

The company has sponsored the contest for the past several years now. Originally submissions were audio recordings of funny customer interactions that had actually occurred between an agent and a customer - however last year the company decided to change the contest to a video format, which basically means the interactions must be staged.

This year Tim Merlau and his video team won for their entry entitled 'On Hold.' It's a hilarious video clip about a customer who has been put on hold for, shall we say, an exorbitantly long period of time. This year there were more than 17 entries, a few of which had to be disqualified due to the nature of the content. Merlau and his fellow actors won the $5,000 grand prize.

Upon learning that they had won the contest, Merlau and his team quickly produced a brief "acceptance speech" video that was presented along with the original video during the Interactive Intelligence Interaction's '10 user conference on May 25.
