CRM from Missionomics, CircleDog for Windows, Released for SMBs

August 18, 2008

Missionomics, which bills itself as a software company that helps companies "ease operational pain and improve their bottom line while improving the world," has announced general availability of CircleDog for Windows, positioned by company officials as "the first uncomplicated customer management software for small business."

The product offers contact and customer management, task and appointment scheduling, sales and customer reporting, team information sharing and more features.

The software has its origins in GiftWorks, a fundraising software suite used by more than 7,000 non-profit organizations. CircleDog uses GiftWorks' usability, features and functionality it its small business-oriented product.

Its "task-focused interface presents precisely what is needed -- and only when and where a user needs it," company officials say, adding that its hybrid design "fuses the power of the desktop with the utility of the Web," using "the forgotten power of the desktop," sparing CircleDog users "the inevitable availability issues of hosted applications while still incorporating the power of the Web."

Charlie Crystle, CEO of Missionomics, called legacy contact management software "terribly difficult to use," saying it "often creates new difficulties."

The CircleDog features all the standard functions of small business CRM, and claims "easy importing and exporting from Outlook, Excel, and other popular formats." It runs on Windows XP or Vista, has an up-front, per-user price is $99 with no monthly fees. A fully-functional 30-day demo is available for download at www.circledog.com.

Missionomics was born out of Mission Research, the company that created GiftWorks. "Our corporate philanthropy and low-impact packaging are just a couple of examples of how we strive to make the world a better place," company officials say.

The company was started by the founding team of Chili!Soft, which was acquired by Cobalt Networks in 2000. "Our technology platform is unique," company officials say, "something we call The Hybrid Web."

Mission Research began serving nonprofits in 2001, working with a range of nonprofits on technology issues. It's headquartered in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
