DSPanel Product Now Offered to Non-Windows-Based Operating Systems

January 18, 2012

DSPanel has extended support to three major operating systems – OS X, Linux and UNIX – on the company’s Performance Canvas Studio. None of the three are Windows-based, so DSPanel is expanding support to hundreds of thousands of businesses. Windows users had access to the solutions previously.

“Since 1999, business intelligence [BI] technology has made great leaps but the problem has been that businesses that have chosen to use non-Windows based technology have been left out,” DSPanel CEO Jan Morath said in a company press release. “Our vision has always been to bring BI to all business people and now that more business people are choosing non-Windows-based technology, we want to make sure those business people can access their companies’ business intelligence data as well. By extending Performance Canvas Studio to support OS X, Linux and UNIX, we’ve ensured that no business is left behind the business intelligence revolution.”

The company said that Performance Canvas Studio lets users “drag-and-drop visualizations and design reports in an agile WYSIWYG environment without needing to know complex query languages such as MDX.”

It is used to gather business data, speed up closes of financial data, and create or distribute reports, the company said. Performance Canvas Studio also lets businesses update, send or access dashboards, reports and analysis using a Web-enabled mobile device or the cloud, according to the company statement.

Last year, DSPanel CTO Niklas Derouche said in a statement carried by ContactCenterSolutions, “Canvas Online is unique in it enables organizations to quickly deploy business intelligence cross-departmentally and cross functionally, enabling all employees to use insights to make better decisions.”

In addition, Performance Canvas Studio can work as a “standalone or embedded within business applications or portal with integration that can be done through a Java client or through a Web services client,” according to a report on MyNewsDesk.com.
