April 15, 2008

The Thames Valley Hosting Center from DediPower, a United Kingdom-based hosting provider, has been selected by Favorit to provide co-location services within its data centre to host an innovative blogging aggregation platform. The blogopshere currently stands at more than 80 million blogs and utilizing a data centre leverages economies of scale and lowers the risk for their IT investment for Favorit.

Favorit, which has a global coverage in the blogoshere, wanted a data center with solid network resilience and connectivity to house its critical IT infrastructure. Backed by Sun Microsystems, the company developed a web 2.0 application that not only aggregates blogs but also centralizes the commenting functionality. This capability simplifies the ability to view and comment, without having to access multiple sites.

DediPower's colocation solutions, customers are assured that their servers will be safe and accessible 24x7x365, all housed within a secure environment with fully managed air-conditioning, redundant power supplies and high speed connectivity. Thames Valley Hosting Center is located on the outskirts of Reading, Berkshire, and is also ideal for companies who are designing disaster recovery requirements into their IT infrastructure.

Nick Halstead, CEO, Favorit, said in a statement that in selecting a colocation data center, he was ultimately looking for a company to protect his IT infrastructure, with a track record of remote hands service excellence. He added that DediPower stood out amongst its competitors and their reputation in the market was critical, as a new company offering innovative technology they need to get off on the right foot.

Craig Martin, CEO, DediPower noted that Favorit are at the forefront of technology, delivering an integrated blogging portal. He believes that Managed Hosting companies are enablers and help underpin businesses in today's eBusiness economies.

DediPower delivers a range of managed hosting solutions including: dedicated servers, application and exchange hosting, high availability multi-server clusters and co-location. Earlier this month, the company was picked by Triad Computer Services Limited, to host their business critical IT infrastructure in DediPower's Thames Valley Hosting Centre.
