Convergys Announces New Facility In The Philippines

February 26, 2008

Teleservices giant Convergys Corporation announced that its new integrated contact center in Bacolod City, Philippines, will be operational in April. Construction is nearing completion on the site, a new build-to-suit facility that is located in the San Antonio Park Square in Barangay Mandalagan. Training for the first 100 new hires is underway.

The new state-of-the-art contact center, encompassing more than 3,000 square meters with room for expansion, will have approximately 500 new employees at opening, and Convergys (News - Alert) hopes to create another 500 new jobs in Bacolod City by the end of 2008. With this new facility, Convergys will have nine of the largest, multi-client, U.S.-owned contact centers in the Philippines.

Upon its opening, the new Bacolod City facility will provide both general support and advanced technical support services to a variety of Convergys clients via traditional voice calling, e-mail, and Web chat, as well as “back office” application and document processing.

“Our new facility in Bacolod is coming along nicely and is nearing completion,” said Marife Zamora, Convergys Country Manager, Philippines. “With the new facility in Bacolod City, we will continue to tap the tremendous pool of resources available in the Philippines as our presence in the country continues to grow.”

The new contact center in Bacolod City will be closely integrated into Convergys’ “Global Assurance Network.” This gives Convergys control of its end-to-end operations and processes, just as the company has in North America, Europe, and India, and assures 100 percent redundancy and flexibility for clients.

Convergys Corporation is currently hiring for many different contact center positions in the Philippines. Interested parties can submit their resumes to philippinesrecruitment@convergys.com.

Customer experience was also cited as the most common reason for opening and closing accounts, more important than fees, rates, locations or convenience. BT Launches New Personalized Video Message Service

When it comes to contact center out-reach there are two trends that everyone needs to literally and figuratively keep an eye on in 2015. They are "personalization" and "video." And, while the first may seem obvious since the goal of marketers is to make customers and prospects feel appreciated with tailored messages uniquely for them, the use of video on the outbound side of things is after many years becoming something more than a novelty.
