InTechnology to Implement Oracle Communications Configuration Management

January 08, 2008

InTechnology, a provider of managed voice, data and network services in the United Kingdom, will implement Oracle Communications Configuration Management and extend its use of Oracle Communications Service Activation to automate provisioning and accelerate delivery of IP-business services.

InTechnology focuses on delivering value-added voice and data services over its end-to-end quality assured IP network to 600 enterprise customers throughout the UK. The company relies on Oracle Communications Service Activation to automate and manage the provisioning and control of its virtual private network (VPN)-based services that include access control lists and quality of service.

InTechnology is implementing Oracle Communications Configuration Management to support the growth of its VPN services through 2008. InTechnology is also extending its use of Oracle Communications Service Activation.

These applications are expected to enable InTechnology to optimize network operations, manage growth and maintain efficient, accurate service provisioning. As a result, the company can ensure customer satisfaction and increase revenue from new sales.

"Over the last several years, Oracle's applications have helped us meet the needs of our enterprise customers by allowing us to deliver reliable, quality services quickly," said John Murray, technical director, InTechnology plc, in a Tuesday statement.

"With Oracle's configuration management and service activation applications, we expect to achieve a demonstrable reduction in provisioning errors while increasing our operational efficiency and flexibility."

Beyond the Oracle Communications Service Fulfillment Suite applications, InTechnology has also leveraged the Oracle Database in order to build the first “push-to-talk” technology available in the UK.

InTechnology’s Global Mobile Radio uses this technology to provide customers with instant communication, either on a one-to-one basis or as a broadcast to a group of people, on their mobile phones.

This service was launched by InTechnology in August 2007. Customers have found the service to be a powerful messaging tool, especially for customers in the emergency services and logistics industries.

"InTechnology's continued use of Oracle applications is indicative of Oracle's commitment to provide the best, most complete applications to help communications service providers deliver next-generation services," said David Sharpley, vice president of product marketing and channels, Oracle Communications, in Tuesday’s statement.

"InTechnology is an innovator in the managed services market and Oracle is pleased to contribute to the company's success."

InTechnology appears to have a clear focus and strategy aimed at providing UK customers with the solutions that they need to advance their communications. The company’s partnership with Oracle will only help to better position their offerings, while also combing innovative technologies to meet the needs of tomorrow.
