eTelemetry Selected by Avaya for DevConnect Program

January 08, 2008

eTelemetry Inc., a company focused on extracting business information from network activity, has announced today that it has been selected by Avaya Inc., a global provider of business communications applications, systems, and services, for membership in the Avaya DevConnect program.

As the developer of Locate911, eTelemetry has gained more recognition in the industry. Locate911 is a plug-and-play appliance that automatically tracks voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) phones on a network.

As a result of this capability, companies can track VoIP phone assets both in real time and historically to reduce loss, improve data accuracy, and save staff time by automating VoIP assignment and e911 compliance tasks.

The Avaya DevConnect program was put in place to promote the development, compliance-testing and co-marketing of innovative third-party products that are compatible with standards-based Avaya solutions.

Member organizations have expertise in a broad range of technologies, including IP telephone, contact centers and mobility applications. These technologies have been designed to help companies extend their value of multi-vendor networks and transform voice into an intelligent business application that can deliver true value to the bottom line.

"Membership in Avaya's DevConnect program will enable us to better serve our customers and further grow our business," said eTelemetry's President and CEO, Ermis Sfakiyanudis, in a Tuesday statement.

"We are happy to be affiliated with such an industry-leading organization and look forward to further enabling enterprise e911 compliance."

Thousands of software and hardware developer companies, integrators and service providers and customers are included in the Avaya DevConnect program. Members have created a broad array of innovative solutions that are tested for Avaya compliance, including natural language speech recognition applications, wireless services, specialized computer telephony integration and more.

"With the involvement of companies like eTelemetry, our Avaya developer community has become a catalyst for rapid innovation, creating multi-vendor applications that help enterprises around the world unleash powerful new possibilities for operating more efficiently and effectively," said Eric Rossman, vice president, developer relations and technical alliances, Avaya, in Tuesday’s statement.

"We help businesses embed secure, reliable Intelligent Communications into the very fabric of their organization so employees and customers have ready access to information regardless of where they are and how they prefer to communicate."

This latest announcement by eTelemetry can have a significant impact on the company’s market positioning. Not only does membership in the Avaya DevConnect program indicate to customers that it has upheld Avaya standards, it can also rely on the Avaya name and others in the community to promote its solutions. Such brand extensions can help to propel the company’s market reach and lead to long-term success.
