CGI and Workday Announce Strategic Partnership

January 19, 2011

Workday, a provider of SaaS-based enterprise solutions for global human resources (HR), payroll, and financial management, has entered into a strategic partnership with CGI. This new partnership is expected to enhance the workforce optimization services for Canadian companies.

In the areas of payroll and e-recruitment, this alliance combines CGI's consulting, systems integration, and business processes services with Workday Human Capital Management (HCM), Financial Management, Initiatives, and Spend Management solutions.

In the management of its global workforce, the comprehensive offering addresses the challenges facing Canadian businesses, the company has stated in a press release.

Workforce optimization (WFO) software is a program suite that combines recording, quality management (QM) and other call center technologies into one console to oversee call center performance.

“In today's knowledge driven economy, our clients recognize the competitive advantage that comes from having the right people, in the right role, at the right time," said Doug McCuaig, president, Canada, CGI.

He added, "Workday and CGI bring to bear a solution suite which enables our clients to optimize the alignment between their organizations, workers, and related business processes—and because it's delivered in the cloud, it's extremely scalable and cost effective.”

CGI provides consulting, systems integration and managed services to companies with a focus on payroll and HCM services. This approach places a high value on acquiring, developing, and retaining their employees, the company has stated.

Offering new levels of business agility for a fraction of the cost of buying, deploying and maintaining legacy on-premise systems, Workday provides SaaS-based enterprise solutions for global human resources, payroll and financial management.

Recently, the company was awarded a competitive, five-year task order worth $55 million by The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) under its Enterprise System Development Indefinite-Delivery, Indefinite-Quantity (ID/IQ) contract. CGI will continue software development and operational support services for the Provider Enrollment Chain Ownership System (PECOS) including Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) registration and attestation functionality.
