Interactive Intelligence Wins TMC Labs Innovation Award

August 06, 2009

Interactive Intelligence, a global provider of unified business communications solutions for contact center automation, enterprise IP telephony, and business process automation, has won Technology Marketing Corp’s Unified Communications TMC Labs Innovation Award.

Interactive Intelligence won the award for its “communications-based process automation” product, Interaction Process Automation (IPA), designed to provide quantifiable return on investment for unified communications. The product is scheduled for release in Q4 2009.

Officials at Interactive Intelligence say IPA, which was announced in June, is designed to help organizations automate their business processes and improve visibility into their operations.

IPA keeps track of work, progress, people, skills, qualifications, availability and resources and optimizes processes by automatically prioritizing and routing work to the best qualified and available worker – regardless of location – for timely completion.

IPA leverages the Interactive Intelligence IP-based unified communications platform to orchestrate the delivery of work, and give organizations everything they need to capture, prioritize, route, escalate and track each step of a business process.

According to the company, IPA was built as an alternative to traditionally complex process management suites and tool-kits, which require extensive professional services, costly custom programming, and lengthy implementation cycles.

Tom Keating, TMC Labs editorial director and CTO said, “What impressed us the most as we looked at IPA was the measurable, positive impact the product could have on a business’s bottom line.”

IPA uses UC technology to drive cost and time out of common business processes and this comprehensive approach to process automation is something truly unique in the industry, added Keating.

Celebrating its tenth year, the TMC Labs Innovation Awards honor products that have demonstrated raw innovation, unique features, and significant contributions toward improving communications technology. The award is not granted to the best-selling products, but instead to those demonstrating a significant contribution to the industry.
