Scott Christian Appointed as CEO of Spanlink Communications

The board of directors of Spanlink Communications, a Minneapolis-based provider of unified communications and contact center solutions, has appointed Chief Financial Officer Scott Christian as president and chief executive officer.

 
Christian is replacing co-founder, president and CEO Brett Shockley, who is joining Avaya and has stepped down from his board responsibilities at Spanlink. Christian will now serve as a director on Spanlink's board.
 
Michael Gorman, Spanlink board member and founding managing director of Split Rock Partners stated that they are pleased to appoint a seasoned leader like Scott Christian as president and CEO.
 
The company is confident that with his experience and knowledge of this company and their industry, Scott will lead the company to continued success.
 
Recognizing the contribution of Shockley, Gorman noted that Brett has been instrumental in establishing Spanlink as a major business communications technology provider. On behalf of the board of directors, he also thanked Brett for his leadership and for making Spanlink the success that it is today.
 
According to Christian, this past year has been Spanlink’s strongest from a sales, revenue and profitability perspective. The company will continue to develop and deploy solutions based on the unified communications technologies and will do so leveraging their key partnership with Cisco.
 
Spanlink Communications is a provider of unified communications and customer interaction solutions leveraging Cisco’s technology. Christian joined Spanlink in 2007 and has been serving as CFO. He will continue with his CFO responsibilities in addition to serving as president and CEO of Spanlink.
 
Christian earlier served as vice president and general manager for Black Box’s Voice Services North Business Unit. Black Box acquired Norstan in January 2005 where Christian served as president and CEO. His positions at Norstan included executive vice president and chief financial officer.
