Call center jobs are picking in the U.S. again. It is estimated that one in every 25 jobs in the U.S. is in the call center industry, and these numbers are expected to grow in the future. This trend of hiring call center employees is because of the increasing preference for U.S. customers to talk to Americans instead of someone in India or the Philippines.

Many cities in the U.S. are getting an economic advantage because of the return of call center jobs. One such city is High Point, N.C. This city has seen many call centers increase its workforce, and in turn, has helped many locals to find jobs in this lucrative industry.

Two prominent companies that have their call center operations in High Point are APAC and Newell Rubbermaid. APAC is an outsourcing company based in Illinois, and has added 500 jobs in its High Point center since April of this year. Furthermore, it has plans to add another 300 jobs to this center by the end of the year. Another company is Newell Rubbermaid, a $6 billion company that has a workforce of more than 22,000 around the country.
