Allstate Road Services Reveals 55 Percent Vehicle Breakdowns Require Towing Services

December 26, 2013

The latest data released by Allstate Road Services reveals that 55 percent of the vehicle breakdowns during the festival season are reported to be mechanical problems, which call for a towing service to the nearest service station. The remaining 45 percent of the calls for help involve non-tow related services such as unlocking a locked vehicle, changing a tire, getting the fuel delivered or repairing a dead battery.

In a release, Anthony Royer, president of Allstate Roadside Services, said “The holidays are a busy time for families. As they run here and there to shop and prepare their homes, they may forget about preparing the car before traveling. Allstate Roadside Services is one of the nation's leading providers of roadside assistance. We're here to help when people have problems on the road. We want everyone to be safe while on the road. But if something happens, if a breakdown occurs, Allstate Roadside Services is able to help customers at that point of duress and give them best-in-class service.”

Along with the data, Allstate Road Services have also released a few safety tips to the general public going on long drives during the holiday season. The company strongly recommends a routine maintenance checkup to check for oil change, fluid top-up and wiper maintenance before hitting the road with the vehicle. A thorough battery check-up to avoid battery breakdown, tire check-up for pressure, tears or unwanted bulges and getting a mechanic to check-up the brake pads are some of the most essential pre-travel checks recommended by the company. Allstate Road Services also advises people to always carry a map or activate the GPS service.

Allstate Road Services also recommends travelers to test the load capacity of the vehicle and always stock items required in an emergency such as roadside flares, flashlight, warm blankets, life hammer, ice scraper and first-aid kit. The company also issued an advisory to be prepared against bad weather. In case the vehicle has broken down, Allstate recommends citizens to call a well-known roadside assistance provider in addition to calling authorities for help by providing as many details as possible about the location.

Allstate Road Services is engaged in providing roadside assistance in the event of a vehicle breakdown. The company has been operating the service for more than half-a-century now and has experience in supporting almost all the vehicle brands.
