Comm100 Adds 'Zero Downtime Upgrade' Feature to On-Demand Live Chat Solution

March 20, 2013

Comm100, a provider of customer service and communication solutions for enterprises, has enhanced its live chat solution with a "zero downtime upgrade” feature.

Comm100 Live Chat, a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) based live chat software solution, is used by more than 100,000 businesses, the company said.

Businesses use Comm100 Live Chat to efficiently engage website visitors and manage customer inquiries.

Thanks to the dynamic DLL loading technology, the Comm100 Live Chat software can now perform the service upgrade without any interruption to open chat sessions. The technology allows both the old and new version of Comm100 Live Chat to function at the same time, until the upgrade is complete.

“With this feature, the software upgrade becomes completely seamless, practically invisible to the end user, and customers need not suspend their live chat support for even a second during our service upgrade,” said Kevin Gao, founder and CEO at Comm100.

The zero downtime upgrade is beneficial for online business clients who operate on the 'time is money' saying, and want to ensure all customer questions are answered quickly without interruption.

“No interruptions in service mean our client's customers can enjoy an optimal website experience, which directly translates into more sales and repeat business," Gao said.

The latest version – Version 7.0 of Comm100 Live Chat – was released in January, 2013 and included integration with Salesforce.com and an optimized user-friendly operator console.

The new upgrade allows Salesforce, a popular CRM platform, to share and transfer information between the chat log and its database. This will help keep all conversations between the agents and the customers manageable and in one place, the company said.

Integration with Salesforce gives the company an added value for their larger business clients who rely on the CRM tool to manage communications with clients, said Gao.

The live chat software was also enhanced with a more streamlined operator interface, featuring simpler navigation and a thoughtful design that encourages user adoption and proficiency.
