Microsoft Israel Sees NIS 1B in Annual Sales

Microsoft Israel posted a 15 percent increase in its annual sales of $200 million for the fiscal year ended June 2007.

 
The large enterprise division, which accounted for 54 percent of total sales, had the highest growth rate, at 25 percent. The sales of the small and mid-sized business division increased 8 percent. Going by the current trends, Microsoft Israel CEO Dan Yamin announced that the company projects NIS 1 billion in sales for the fiscal year ending June 2008. The company has also unveiled its plan for the coming fiscal year to achieve this projection. 
 
Microsoft Israel became Israel's largest seller of CRM solutions in 2006, according to a report by IDC. Riding on this demand wave, Microsoft’s customer relations management (CRM) software witnessed 101 percent growth and contributed significantly to its top line.
 
Sales figures of MS Office 2007 and servers went up by 17 percent and 11 percent respectively. It latest operating system, Windows Vista, is also doing well in Israel with 160,000 units sold in the first half of 2007. This figure accounts for 42 percent of all operating systems sold in Israel during the period. 96,000 units were sold to households, which accounts for 70 percent of total systems sales.
 
In the coming year, Microsoft will enter the enterprise resource planning (ERP) market and launch Windows Server 2008, SQL Server 2008 and a series of products for the enterprise market.
 
Yamin said that Microsoft is also planning to introduce an Xbox games console and future surface computer games in Israel.
