Congratulations To Our 2012 Honorees [Michigan Chronicle (MI)]

(Michigan Chronicle (MI) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Detroit is home to many powerful African-American role models.

We don't hear about their selfless acts every day as they quietly go about the business of leading exceptional companies, supporting strong Black families and contributing to the many activities that make Detroit a great place to come home to. But we should.

That is why the Michigan Chronicle launched its Men of Excellence (MOE) campaign more than five years ago, in order to honor and celebrate the many achievements of great men who do good things for Detroit - men who have much to teach all of us about the power of stewardship, wisdom, selfdiscipline, tenaciousness and humility.

We hope that the powerful and positive visual of the more than 250 individuals that we have honored to date will leave a lasting impact on our readers' psyches, reminding them that many, many strong Black men still serve as mentors, stewards and statesmen in Detroit today.

We invite you to join as we take a moment to lift up and celebrate their good work at our 5th annual Men of Excellence celebration on Thursday, June 28, 6 p.m. at Detroit's Westin Book Cadillac Hotel.
