(AME Info (Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) June 07--ETISALAT NOT LOOKING FOR ACQUISITIONS - CEO: Mohamed Omran, chief executive of Etisalat has said the firm is not currently seeking new acquisitions after plans to buy a large stake in Kuwait's Zain fell through earlier this year, Zawya Dow Jones has reported. "We are not looking now (at acquisitions). We are focusing on Arab countries and I think it will need time to come back...to be active again," Omran told reporters on the sidelines of a telecoms conference in Amman.

VALUATION OF ORASCOM TELECOM'S ALGERIA UNIT STALLED: The valuation of the Algerian government of Orascom Telecom's local mobile phone unit has been delayed because of a disagreement about disclosing company data, Reuters has reported, citing two telecoms sector sources. Algeria's government hired law firm Shearman and Sterling in January to conduct the valuation and instructed it to complete the work by the end of May. "The valuation has not been done yet because Djezzy refused to allow Shearman access to its database," an Algerian telecoms sector source familiar with the Djezzy case told the news service.
