Nexonia announces Expense Management for Sunshine Act

Toronto, Ontario, Apr 03, 2013 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) -- Nexonia Inc. has announced support for expense tracking and reporting for healthcare organizations required to be compliant with the Physician Payments Sunshine Act.

As announced by the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the "Sunshine Act" mandates that as of August 1st, 2013, many healthcare organizations (group purchasing organizations and manufacturers) will have to track and report expense spending related to physicians and teaching hospitals.

"With the American pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers required to report their payments and benefits to physicians and teaching hospitals, Nexonia wanted its customers to take a leadership position in compliance with the Sunshine Act," says Neil Wainwright, CEO of Nexonia. "Even though the Act comes into force as of August 1st, our goal is to have all our customers fully implemented by the end of April 2013 - over three months in advance of the compliance requirement." "We designed this new capability to be seamless and straightforward," says Pascal Paradis-Theberge, CTO of Nexonia. "We integrated the National Provider Identifier Standard (NPI) database into Nexonia's systems as an elegant extension to our expense management platform. It's instantly available on our web and mobile platforms, including iPhone and iPad, Android and BlackBerry 10. It's very easy to use and administer." Nexonia is providing their customers with Sunshine Act compliance at no additional cost.
