AppSense Achieves Significant Growth as Customers Embrace Enterprise Consumerization

NEW YORK --(Business Wire)--

AppSense, the people-centric computing company, today announced that the dollar value of orders booked in its fiscal year, ended June 30, 2012, increased 43 percent from the prior year as customers around the globe continued to adopt the company's user virtualization solution. Systems integrators represented 20 percent of total orders for fiscal year 2012, delivering large-scale desktop transformation opportunities and remaining actively involved with the adoption of user-virtualization. In addition to the increase in orders, the company achieved significant milestones with new product introductions and key strategic initiatives.

Significant Customer Growth Across Key Geographies

New customers worldwide have turned to AppSense's market-leading user virtualization solution, resulting in expanded growth in all of its key regions including The Americas, Europe and Australia/New Zealand, with key penetration into financial, healthcare and education sectors. Brocade (News - Alert), O'Neill, Seattle Children's Hospital and McHenry County College are just some of the many new customers that have adopted AppSense.

Key Acquisition and R&D Investment Advance "Anywhere Access" and BYOD

As consumer behaviors continue to disrupt traditional enterprise computing, AppSense has made tremendous investments to help corporate IT departments manage this change. In February, AppSense launched a research arm - AppSense Labs - focused on introducing new technologies for both IT departments and consumers. In May, the company acquired RAPsphere, a mobile-IT company, and made an investment in Collaaj - a rich data capture, share and collaborate company - to drive mobile, BYOD and data access among enterprise users.

Expanded Portfolio and New Offerings Help Customers Bridge Personal and Enterprise Computing

AppSense set internal records during the past year for new product introductions and updates to its existing portfolio, helping customers push the boundaries of user-centric omputing. The company introduced two new products - DataNow and StrataApps - and advanced the company's flagship User Virtualization Platform (UVP).

  • DataNow: An enterprise data broker solution that combines the convenience of anywhere data access for users with the IT infrastructure integration and governance capabilities that today's organizations demand.
  • StrataApps: A product designed to shift the burden of managing crucially important, yet relatively low demand applications from an over-stretched IT service department to the users themselves, without disrupting enterprise resources.
  • User Virtualization Platform (UVP): Enhancements were made to UVP, which include simplified set-up and administration, extended enterprise management controls, and user self-service options that enable companies to virtualize, manage, and deliver users across any combination of physical and virtual desktops, tablets, and smartphones more efficiently.

"This past fiscal year was our best ever for AppSense as customers sought to change the IT landscape through enterprise consumerization," said Darron Antill, CEO of AppSense. "We had a series of achievements, both in terms of product direction and corporate initiatives - two signs that highlight the fact that we're seeing rapid customer adoption of our solution. We have our sights acutely focused on the fiscal year ahead and intend to be even more aggressive with new product rollouts and hiring to accommodate our growth."
