VidyoCast Garners Recognition on IBC Innovation Awards Shortlist

Aug 27, 2012 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- VidyoCast, the broadcast division of Vidyo, Inc., announced that it was awarded the IBC Innovation Award Shortlist honor.

According to a release, among the several thousand TV industry manufacturers, this shortlist honor in the "Content Delivery" category is given to only four companies.

The award recognizes VidyoCast's innovation that accomplishes live remote TV production over IP, with full broadcast control of their robotic cameras, VidyoCast HD video encoding and decoding as well as live TV production capability. Specifically cited is an end-user with central studios in New York City and a remote studio half-way across the US. The VidyoCast approach saved substantial amounts of money through this approach and achieved greater production flexibility.

"It's a great honor to be in the IBC Innovation Awards shortlist, among other industry leaders," said Jim O'Brien, General Manager of VidyoCast. "We've developed and deployed a great disruptive model for how broadcast networks of every type can improve live production using cloud-based resources," said Jim O'Brien, General Manager of VidyoCast.

The IBC Innovation Awards ceremony will be held on Sept 9, during the IBC 2012 Conference in Amsterdam.
