IDO Security Conducts Pilot Program in Constanc'a -- Romanian Prison

NEW YORK, NY, Aug 01, 2012 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) -- IDO Security Inc. (OTCBB: IDOI), developer of the innovative MagShoe(TM) shoe scanning device (SSD), today announced that the Company has installed the MagShoe at the Penitenciarul Poarta Alba Prison in Bucharest Romania.

Following the Company's participation in the Israeli delegation to the 2012 Black Sea Defense & Aerospace Exhibition in May 2012, and demonstrating the MagShoe at the ICPA Regional conference in Bucharest, June 14th and 15th http://www.icpa.ca/news/1478, IDO Security has begun a pilot program in the Constanc'a Prison.

At the ICPA event hosted by the Romanian National Administration of Penitentiaries and the Romanian Probation Department, the MagShoe was presented as a key component of the solution to combat the penetration of cellular phones, and their batteries into correctional facilities. The pilot program in the Constanc'a prison draws upon the experience and the reputation of the MagShoe gained in its European prison installations in Andorra, Italy and Switzerland, among others.

In an "Analysis of Barriers to Implementing Airport-style Security at all Points of Entry to California Correctional Institutions," published January 2012 by the California Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation, it was noted that, "Hiding phones in shoes is a common smuggling tactic and a weakness of most standing metal detectors that can seldom detect metals at floor level." The MagShoe, on the other hand, is a stand-on device which detects metals in shoes and on the lower part of legs, closing the security gap noted in the California study.

Yaniv Beran, IDO Security's General Manager, commented, "We are pleased that following our demonstration of the MagShoe's unique capabilities to this key international target group, we were able to immediately begin a pilot program featuring the MagShoe's abilities to increase the safety of prison personnel while closing the security gap in conducting inspections of inmates for metal objects. The MagShoe offers a remote reading of the results of the search for metals and so lowers risk by separating staff from the subject of the test." About IDO Security, Inc.

Headquartered in New York with a subsidiary in Israel, IDO Security designs, develops and markets the patented MagShoe(TM) shoe scanning device (SSD), filling a critical void in today's detectors by extending screening to the lower body and feet.

MagShoe(TM)'s "shoes-on" design maximizes security, thoroughness and accuracy while eliminating the need to remove shoes for increased convenience and safety; neither invasive nor harmful to the body as some of the other screening devices currently used in the marketplace. Ideal for security and loss prevention at virtually any facility, MagShoe(TM) is currently in use worldwide at international airports, cruise lines, government agencies, correctional facilities, mints and more.
