Cisco open network environment aimed at business innovations

Jun 14, 2012 (TELECOMWORLDWIRE via COMTEX) -- Networking giant Cisco (NASDAQ: CSCO) said it has introduced a versatile and broad approach to network programmability aimed at helping customers drive business innovation through trends such as cloud, mobility, social networking, and video.


Called Cisco ONE, it enables flexible, application-driven customization of network infrastructures to help realize business objectives such as: increased service velocity, resource optimization, and faster monetization of new services.

The Cisco Open Network Environment is delivered through a set of platform APIs, agents and controllers, and overlay network technologies.

Cisco is collabourating on emerging network technologies with industry leaders, academic organisations, and standards bodies to meet their heterogeneous requirements for network programmability. Currently the environment supports universities and research organisations, hyperscale data centers, cloud providers, and enterprises, among other.
