Ericsson renews managed services contract with SSTL in India


Aug 01, 2011 (NORDIC BUSINESS REPORT via COMTEX) -- 1 August 2011 - Indian telecoms operator Sistema Shyam Teleservices Ltd (SSTL), operating under the MTS brand, has extended and expanded its managed services contract with Swedish telecoms equipment major Ericsson AB (STO: ERIC B).



No financial details were available.

Ericsson will now operate the customer's wireless networks in the circles Uttar Pradesh East, Uttar Pradesh West, Gujarat and Rajasthan in addition to Delhi and Haryana, a contract for which was announced in September 2010.


The extension also includes a new three-year deal for the management of fibre transport and wired networks in Rajasthan, Ericsson said today. This new deal covers network optimisation, operations and maintenance as well as network service, customer problem management and spare parts management.

As part of the agreement, Ericsson India will take over some 200 SSTL employees in Rajasthan.
