: Red Door Interactive awarded for creating QR Code Mobile Scavenger Hunt for ESET

Jan 28, 2011 (M2 PRESSWIRE via COMTEX) -- Red Door Interactive, a premier strategic Internet Presence Management firm, received a Denver Fifty award from the New Denver Ad Club for devising a QR Code Mobile Scavenger Hunt for ESET.

The agency created an interactive game which allowed participants to use their mobile devices to uncover clues designed to drive foot traffic through the company's four installations at South by Southwest.

"The annual music, film and interactive conference was packed with companies that were frantically promoting their products and services to consumers," said Tony Felice, Senior Strategist at Red Door Interactive. "Our goal was to create a fun, engaging activity to rise above all the noise and draw participants to ESET's attractions around town. We wanted to use mobile technology to connect the out-of-home touchpoints, and curate the experience." The scavenger hunt directed participants to find and solve three clues through the use of QR Codes, two-dimensional barcode like symbols that are readable by mobile phones with a camera and smartphones. Participants needed to decipher the message inside to receive the next clue via text message. The first 100 finishers received a one-year license for ESET's award-winning antivirus software and were entered for a chance to win a $2,000 Sony VAIO(R) laptop pre-loaded with the company's antivirus software.

"Through the use of QR codes, Red Door achieved the campaign goals of active engagement across multiple locations, product trials and lead generation," said Darin Andersen, Chief Operating Officer at ESET. "It's no surprise that they've been recognized for this accomplishment and it's a primary reason why we look to them to incorporate such strategies into our marketing campaigns."
