Proact to build data storage system for TDC

(Telecomworldwire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) European storage solution company Proact is to provide a storage system for telecoms operator TDC, the company announced today.

This contract covers duplication of disk space for TDC's two data centres and its servers which are used for consolidating virtual machines. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The data centre renovation will be implemented by Proact using the products of its partners Cisco, NetApp and EMC.

NetApp's MetroCluster can be used to distribute one storage system to two geographically separate data centres with full synchronisation. The TDC servers will be equipped with Cisco's new UCS (Unified Computing System) technology and the data is secured using deduplication technology from EMC.
