NetByTel Showcases Commitment and Best Practices in VoiceXML

BOCA RATON, Fla., July 7 /PRNewswire/ -- NetByTel, an industry leader in telephone self-service solutions, announced today that its experienced team of speech application developers is among the first to receive VoiceXML Developer Certification -- demonstrating its corporate commitment to developing the most cutting-edge high-quality speech solutions in the marketplace today.

The certification is granted by the VoiceXML Forum, an industry organization formed to create and promote the Voice Extensible Markup Language (VoiceXML). The VoiceXML Developer Certification Exam measures a developer's knowledge of the W3C's Speech Interface Framework languages required to develop speech applications, including VoiceXML 2.0, Speech Synthesis Markup Language (SSML), Speech Recognition Grammar Specification (SRGS), Semantic Interpretation Language and the XML Call Control Language (CCXML). It also demonstrates how developers may use these languages effectively to create world-class VoiceXML applications.
NetByTel has successfully developed and deployed more than 50 voice self-service applications using VoiceXML. Its primary focus is in the retail industry, taking millions of calls for companies such as Office Depot, Walmart.com, Shell, Brookstone and many more. This certification is a significant accomplishment, as it demonstrates the company's long-standing dedication and reputation for the most sophisticated voice self-service solutions.
"We congratulate NetByTel's speech development team for successfully passing the VoiceXML Forum's Developer Certification Exam," said Jonathan Engelsma, Chair of the VoiceXML Forum's Education Committee and Distinguished Member of the Technical Staff at Motorola, Inc. "We believe that the Developer Certification Exam will become the industry benchmark for testing a developer's knowledge of the W3C's Speech Interface Framework languages. Our goal with this certification program, and others offered by the VoiceXML Forum, is to advance the adoption of VoiceXML as the standard for developing speech and telephony applications."
"We strongly endorse the certification program and are very proud of our team of developers, because in the end, this will greatly help our customers gain the benefits of VoiceXML's open standards," said John Amein, president and CEO of NetByTel. "Building in-house expertise that is fully certified is important to us not only for creating the most advanced applications, but also because we want our customers to be confident that our rapid development environment, VoiceServ(R), will create fully compliant, dynamic VoiceXML."
