May 12, 2009

Access Northeast, which specializes in colocation, managed services, virtualization, wide-area networking and disaster recovery solutions, will be showcasing its latest colocation facility expansion with an open house to be held this Thursday, May 14, from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at 34 Saint Martin Drive, Marlborough, MA.

Access Northeast is a privately-held firm based in Marlborough, with more than 1,000 business customers, 1,500 network connections and 25,000 daily end-users on its network. It owns three data centers in Massachusetts and one in Newark, N.J., for customer applications, as well as multiple connections to national network providers such as AT&T, MCI, XO, Covad and Conversent Communications.
Access Northeast has expanded over the years. Its 40,000-square-foot data center in Marlborough includes more than 12,000 square feet of recently built, high-density, raised floor space.
The facility also houses the Access Northeast Disaster Recovery Center, which allows customers to back up vital information in the event of a natural disaster or technology failure, as well as its Pantheon Managed Services Platform.
The Pantheon suite of services includes scalable, cost-efficient virtualization for primary and replicated customer applications, data storage and backups, security, monitoring and cloud computing infrastructure.
The company’s newly expanded facilities include full and half locking cabinets, private cages, colocation by the "1U," DR seats, private customer DR offices and more. In addition, it has achieved SAS 70 Type II certification.
"Access Northeast's goal is to provide world-class infrastructure, customer service and support to our valued clients and business partners," said Rob Stephenson, Access Northeast's CEO, in a release. "Our scalable and flexible solutions result in capital and operational cost reductions for businesses who choose to leverage the economies of scale achieved through our 24 x 7 x 365 Marlborough Facility, Network Operations Center (NOC) and Professional Services staff."
Access Northeast also provides performance-based routing via a Gigabit Ethernet connection to Internap Network Services. Internap runs an overlay network with connections to all the Tier One providers.
