LogMeIn Unveils Free Mobile App to Offer Remote Desktop Capabilities to iPads, iPhones

LogMeIn has launched a free mobile app to offer its remote desktop capabilities to even more iPads and iPhones.

In a release, Michael Simon, president and CEO of LogMeIn, said, “Mobile devices, most notably the iPad, have given rise to an entirely new audience looking to remotely access their computer files and applications on the go.”

“Not surprisingly, mobile has become an increasingly important driver for introducing new people to LogMeIn’s services, and we believe we’re just scratching the surface of this growing demand. By combining our mobile and free service strengths, we can bring the benefits of top-shelf remote access to virtually anyone and everyone with an iPhone or iPad.”

This app will feature the same remote access experience that is available in LogMeIn Ignition the third party iPad app. Also the new app allows iOS owners to view, access and control their PCs or Macs remotely from their iPad or iPhone.

The app is compatible with LogMeIn’s flagship free remote access offering, LogMeIn Free. This gives iOS users unlimited free mobile access to their remote computers where ever an Internet connection is available.

According to company sources the company is leveraging the success witnessed with the LogMeIn Ignition mobile app. This new LogMeIn for iPad/iPhone app will bring the cloud-based, essential remote services with feature-rich free offerings of the company to new audiences.

iPad and iPhone owners can get the remote access capabilities by simply downloading the free app from the Apple App Store and then installing LogMeIn Free on any PC or Mac.

Officials revealed that users get the option to upgrade to a new version of LogMeIn Pro, LogMeIn’s premium remote access software to benefit from more remote access capabilities.

LogMeIn users will be able to access unlimited number of PCs and Macs from their iOS devices via a highly secure and simple connection such as AES 256-bit encryption, SSL/TLS intrusion detection. Also they can remotely view and control their PCs and Macs and run their computer-based business applications like Salesforce, Microsoft Office, Quickbooks, etc. on their iOS device.

Besides they can also view important files and other critical information that is stored on a remote computer from anywhere with a WiFi or 3G connection. Cloud storage integration allows quick and seamless capabilities that let users view, copy, transfer and save files between iOS devices, personal or work computers, and popular cloud services like Dropbox and Google Docs.

LogMeIn announced recently that it has published an update to its LogMeIn Ignition for its iPad/iPhone app that synergizes cloud services and remote access into a single application.
