Following Success in Hospitality Space, Movitas Secures Multi-Million Dollar Funding from Private Investors

Following its tremendous success with diverse clients in hospitality industry including hotels, resorts, conferences and travel destinations, Mobile Technology Company Movitas has secured new round of financing from private investors, which amounts to $3 million. Movitas sources informed that the newly acquired funds will be used to deepen the capabilities of the company’s mobile platform. The platform with enhanced capabilities will open up new sources of revenues for the Movitas clients that are spread across the travel, tourism and meetings industries.

Currently, the company's platform provides hospitality-focused mobile solutions; an integrated suite of publishing, marketing, messaging and advertising applications for delivering new revenue sources. The platform focuses on the revenue opportunities of real-time communication between travel businesses and consumers before, during, and after their stay.

Company’s future plan involves using the investment for launching unique end-user features into the market to increase the revenue potential of its customers' mobile deployments in the multi-billion dollar online travel marketing space. The features will enable Movitas customers to earn additional revenue from on-site marketing, advertising, cross-selling and upgrading.

While mobile communication has become a vital part of customer relation management in hospitality industry, there is no dearth of mobile technology companies in the Industry. But what sets Movitas ahead of it competitors is its uniquely created, hospitality oriented platform. While there are other mobile technology companies in the hospitality space, the ones that seek to replace existing booking channels or to enhance guest services with a native iPhone app, Movitas offers cross-device, software-as-a-service mobile platform, focused on generating new revenue for its customers

"Every hospitality business is aware that modern mobile phones represent a new paradigm in marketing and in customer relationship management. We have proven that on-site, in-destination mobile solutions deliver a new set of revenue generation capabilities, in addition to enhancing access to existing revenue streams,” Keith Forshew, CEO of the Philadelphia-area company, maintained.

According to Forshew, Movitas is committed to enhance and expand its platform and the platform continues to develop in this direction with the recent introduction of “enhanced mobile advertising, commerce and cross-selling functions, fueled by integrated end-user applications that range from fun to indispensable for guests.”

It should be mentioned that the new funding comes a little more than six months after a strategic acquisition in December 2009. In the interim, Movitas has acquired a significant number of new clients from the lodging industry, including Choice Hotels International, Ocean Properties and Kohler Resorts; the destinations industry, including Poconos CVB and Atlantic City CVB; the meetings industry, including Travelcom, DMAI and HSMAI; and resorts and destinations operators in the US, Mexico and Caribbean through relationships with MMG Worldwide, Amstar DMC, and AMResorts.
