NACR Announces Preferred Provider Status for Sennheiser

January 07, 2015

NACR, a provider of business communications solutions, has announced that it has named Sennheiser a NACR Preferred Provider.

While Sennheiser is a name that’s well-known to audiophiles, musicians and audio engineers for its high-quality microphones and headphones, it might seem like a stretch for business.

Tori A. Seliokas, channel manager for Sennheiser, disagrees.

"Today's businesses understand that audio solutions are not an add-on — they are an investment in a vital touchpoint for both customers and users, and crucial to the delivery of an exceptional experience," said. "That is why we are thrilled to be a Preferred Partner of NACR, a well-respected company that shares our commitment to delivering high-quality, reliable solutions that help to ensure the success of the businesses we serve."

This is a far cry from 20 years ago, when most business PCs didn’t come with any kind of sound capability, and phones mostly lived on people’s desks and didn’t talk to the computer at all.

With the greater use of unified communications and the VoIP revolution, telephony has been abstracted from the actual hardware, but intelligibility and audio quality is very important, especially in areas like customer service.

Sennheiser has been putting its 70-year audio engineering expertise designing IP telephony headsets. These headsets simply combine two of the products that Sennheiser is best known for: headphones and microphones. Taking advantage of this shift in business communications, the company has partnered with other major companies like Avaya, Cisco and Microsoft.

It seems that what’s good for audio engineers and musicians is good enough for ordinary businesspeople. That might be why NACR is so impressed with Sennheiser.

“Sennheiser is a long-time partner with a growing channel presence and a reputation for setting new standards of sound quality," Gerry Pearce, UC practice lead at NACR said. "Together, Sennheiser and NACR are helping businesses make sound choices in their communication investments. To that end, Sennheiser products are known for delivering unmatched, intelligible sound while providing seamless integration with the leading systems for unified communications and contact center."
