Interactive Intelligence to Add 250 New Jobs in Indiana this Year

March 26, 2013

Global provider of unified IP business communications solutions, Interactive Intelligence Group, today announced plans to add 250 jobs in Indiana before the end of the year. According to the company's founder and CEO Dr. Donald E. Brown, Interactive Intelligence's growth is such that it requires new employees.

"Our planned 25 percent increase in Indiana staff this year tops our hiring rate for the same period last year, which was 18 percent," said Brown in a statement. "These consistent increases in hiring have been fueled by our growing cloud communications line of business, along with our ability to attract larger and larger customers worldwide. Both drivers have opened up a lot of great opportunities for Indiana talent wanting to work with the latest technologies and interact with some of the foremost brands in the world."

If all goes as planned, Interactive Intelligence can expect to generate over $65 million in Indiana payroll compensation, up $10 million from the amount it generated last year. Furthermore, this growth will increase the company's current headcount in Indiana to about 1,000 employees.

Of course, office expansion often goes hand in hand with employee growth. Indeed, the company plans to expand its world headquarters in Indianapolis this year by around 40,000 square feet, putting the square footage total to just under 300,000 square feet across four buildings.

Interactive Intelligence was founded in 1994, beginning its life as a small start-up. Today it is a publicly traded company that generates $237 million in annual revenue, employing 1,400 people worldwide. The company has always focused on Indiana, though, and has received a number of local accolades as a result. Namely, Interactive Intelligence has been named among the 2013 Indiana Chamber of Commerce's "Best Places to Work in Indiana" for the seventh consecutive year and among the 2013 Indianapolis Business Journal's "Largest Indianapolis-Area Software Developers" for the ninth consecutive year.

The company's awards aren't limited to Indiana, however, as toward the end of 2012, it was also honored with a 2012 Cloud Computing Excellence Award from TMC's Cloud Computing Magazine.

The company clearly plans to continue its trend of success in the year ahead.
