Call Genie Inc., which provides localized, voice-enabled search solutions to Yellow Pages publishers, directory assistance providers and wireless carriers, today announced the immediate availability of the latest release of its Enhanced Voice Directory (EVD) software in French. According to the company, the new product release expands Call Genie’s commitment to supporting multiple languages as well as entering new, international markets in Europe and other parts of the world.

The new French version contains all of the features and functionality Call Genie’s EVD software including business category search, location refinement, merchant ranking, voice advertising and call connection.

“By incorporating French language support, our customers are now able to offer a French-only or bilingual, English-French, local search solution to their callers," said Michael Durance, CEO of Call Genie. "These continued investments in our EVD product demonstrate Call Genie's commitment to developing world-class software and supporting an international customer base."

Developed to allow "ready to transact" consumers to connect with local businesses anytime and anywhere, Call Genie’s voice-enabled, mobile local search solution allows information companies to offer enhanced directory assistance to their callers. With an intuitive, voice-based user interface and accurate business category search capability, EVD is suited to provide consumers with relevant merchant results. In addition to providing automation results, EVD provides a full multimodal content delivery capability that includes voice and data presentation of results and direct merchant call connect.

EVD was specifically designed to allow directory assistance providers, Yellow Pages publishers, search engine companies and wireless carriers to offer a voice-based business category search experience to their customers. EVD can be delivered as part of a traditional directory assistance experience or as a vanity number that leverages a publisher’s print and/or IYP offering.

The latest release of EVD is commercially available now and was recently deployed in 875 cities in Quebec, where callers can now conduct a bilingual search for business information.
