Cox Communications Renews Billing and Customer Care Contract

Convergys Corporation, a specialist in relationship management, announced a renewal of a long-term billing and customer care contract with Cox Communications.

Headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, Convergys has a global presence across the United States, Canada, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. On the strength of its 30 years of domain experience and innovative technologies, the company has come to be regarded as a global leader in relationship management. Cox Communications is the third-largest cable entertainment and broadband services provider in the United States. In a recent press release, Convergys announced that the later renewed its contract for Convergys Smart BSS Solutions.

Convergys Smart BSS Solutions leverage real-time actionable marketing innovation to deliver innovative support of convergent services. This helps the clients minimize their risk, reduce operational costs, and generate revenue and build valuable relationships with their customers. Convergys supports seven of FORTUNE’s Top 10 communications companies.

Convergys has been the supplier of BSS solution, which has been labeled as feature-rich and field-proven by its maker, to Cox Communications for 26 years. Under this renewed license agreement, Convergys will continue to provide long-term billing services to Cox’s six million residential and commercial video, voice, and data customers.

“Cox has built its business on exceeding customer expectations; the billing support we receive from Convergys helps us to do that. This latest contract renewal is a strong vote of confidence for the key role Convergys’ cable solutions will continue to play in enabling Cox to differentiate itself on the superior service we provide our customers,” said vice president of Supply Chain Management for Cox, George Richter, in a statement.

It should be noted that this is the third contract renewal in North America this year for Convergys’ cable solutions, which support 8 of the top 15 cable, broadband, and satellite providers in the United States. Convergys also supports more than 36 cable, broadband, and satellite providers globally.

Few months back, ContactCenterSolutions reported Convergys’ winning of a lucrative contract from one of the major telecom companies. Telefónica International Wholesale Services, a subsidiary of telecommunications leader Telefónica, selected a Convergys Smart BSS Solution to support corporate customers of its International Services business.

The solution included a license contract for Convergys Rating and Billing Manager and implementation services, the company announced through a press release.
