Peapod Shines Spotlight On Brooklyn's Creative Community With Competition To Redesign Iconic Delivery Truck

BROOKLYN, NY., April 12, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Peapod, the country's leading online grocer, has always believed that to best serve its customers it has to maintain strong relationships with the communities it serves. From Peapod's hardworking drivers that are welcomed into customers' homes each week, to its selection of local food products that represent a city's unique flavor, Peapod embraces the vibrant cultures of its customers.

Since arriving in Brooklyn in 2015, Peapod has been inspired by the borough's strong artistic presence that helps define the community. To celebrate that creativity, Peapod has a launched the Brooklyn Inspired Truck Contest, an open competition for all artists – from trained professionals to students to doodlers - to have their artwork featured on a fleet of Peapod delivery trucks that will be dedicated to the New York market.

"Our business is about delivering affordable fresh groceries, convenience, and creative meal solutions," said Jennifer Carr-Smith, Peapod President. "But it's really so much more than that – we want to celebrate with our customers in their unique communities. What better way to thank Brooklyn for welcoming us than to connect with its thriving art community to shre their creativity with the entire city. We know the wide pool of talent in Brooklyn and across Peapod's markets will create some incredible artwork to be featured on our trucks."

All submitted artwork must celebrate Brooklyn and the food these trucks will carry, but artists have the creative license to interpret that as they see fit. Artwork can be submitted from April 12th to May 3rd on FromthePod.com. On May 5th, Peapod will announce the 10 semi-finalists. From there, customers and fans will have the opportunity to vote online until May 12th for five winning artists who will have their artwork featured on Peapod trucks beginning in June. The artist whose artwork accumulates the most votes will receive a year's supply of groceries courtesy of Peapod. Complete rules for the contest can be found here.
