Integrated Solution Helps Boehringer Ingelheim Deliver Copyrighted Scientific Material Compliantly to Healthcare Professionals

Today at the Veeva European Commercial Summit, one of the largest dedicated life sciences events for commercial and medical affairs professionals in Europe, Tangent 90 announced that Boehringer Ingelheim, a top 20 global pharmaceutical company, is strengthening its multichannel engagement strategy with Veeva CRM Approved Email and Tangent 90 Vendit.

The fully integrated CRM solution enables Boehringer Ingelheim to send emails with relevant scientific research and medical reprints to drive more meaningful, tailored interactions with healthcare professionals (HCPs). Boehringer Ingelheim is already seeing positive results since they deployed Veeva CRM Approved Email. The company achieved a high email open rate and click through rate compared with the industry average.

"Veeva and Tangent 90 enable us to provide a critical service that has been missing in the industry and deliver compliant, copyrighted material through email," explained Paul Dunesky, head of customer marketing at Boehringer Ingelheim UK and Ireland. "We can better meet individual HCP content needs and preferences, as well as further our strategic goal of creating a differentiated customer experience through the digital channels our customers prefer."

Gaurav Sanganee, content manager at Boehringer Ingelheim UK and Ireland and the VendIT project lead explained, that "this method of sending clinical papers tocustomers via the iPad has really come of age as we can now deliver an end-to-end solution which is fully integrated with our current CRM offering and gives customers valuable information in a channel that meets their needs."

While there are greater expectations among HCPs for information and interactions to be online, regulatory requirements have made the shift to digital channels such as email challenging.

Veeva CRM Approved Email combined with Tangent 90's cloud platform, Vendit, enables Boehringer Ingelheim to email timely, relevant content from more than 150 scientific and medical publishers directly to HCPs without the risk of copyright infringement. Customer facing teams can quickly follow up face-to-face meetings with valuable materials and connect with physicians via Veeva CRM Approved Email.

Multichannel marketing continues to grow in importance as life sciences companies such as Boehringer Ingelheim look to leverage new digital channels to engage customers. Over the next five years, Gartner (News - Alert) expects migration to multichannel marketing to strengthen within pharma, and recognized Veeva as one of only two vendors to offer complete CRM products, support, and services across most of the globe.1

"Organizations are continuously looking for ways to engage more meaningfully with their customers and deliver a differentiated experience," said Paul Shawah, vice president of commercial cloud strategy at Veeva. "Boehringer Ingelheim is a prime example of how leveraging new digital channels can help companies stay top of mind with HCPs and create more valuable interactions."
