FusionStorm Embraces Collaboration in New San Francisco Headquarters

SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Global IT solutions provider FusionStorm, a Cisco Gold Partner, announces the opening of its completely redesigned corporate headquarters in San Francisco. The new space was designed to cultivate a more collaborative and open startup-style work environment. Private individual offices, including those of the management team, have been replaced with more open pod-oriented work spaces and ad-hoc stations that easily convert from sitting to standing desks.

The new emphasis on enhanced collaboration is nowhere more apparent than in the latest Cisco TelePresence technology installed in the office. The headquarters now has seven Cisco TelePresence-enabled conference rooms, including:

  • A large training room with a Cisco MX800 Dual TelePresence unit, featuring two 70-inch LCD screens and SpeakerTrack 60 technology
  • Two medium-sized conference rooms with 55-inch single-screen Cisco TelePresence units, featuring SpeakerTrack 60 technology
  • Four "huddle rooms" with smaller Cisco TelePresence units and casual, brainstorm-friendly furniture

This takes internal FusionStorm communications to a higher level both locally and across the world. With FusionStorm orchestrating complex infrastructure deployments—often in international locations—the collaboration platforms allow dispersed teams to have visibility into the presence of their co-workers anywhere and connect via video, voice and instant messaging to instantly solve customer issues and get aligned on projects.

For FusionStorm customers, the new collaboration technology means they often have real-time access to account managers, engineers and executives within FusionStorm across instant messaging, voice and video when a critical issue arises, or to connect for a project sttus call or strategic planning session. Standing meetings between customer and FusionStorm teams are also taking place through video for a more direct, personal and communicative experience on both sides.

Cisco channel representatives, especially those on the West Coast, now have in the FusionStorm headquarters a premier, hands-on showcase of the latest Cisco Collaboration technology in action, demonstrating real-world use cases in motion every day for potential customers.

Several key FusionStorm employees across the company have been equipped with new award-winning Cisco DX80 Desktop Collaboration units to improve interoffice meetings and make them more accessible for video calls with customers and partners.

"Our customers are increasingly improving their own communications between employees and customers," says Jim Glueck, Vice President, Pre-Sales and Professional Services, Core Technologies. "They are rapidly adopting video and other unified communications technologies that provide an easy-to-use, fully integrated collaboration experience for their people, whether they are on the go with a mobile device, at their desks, in a conference room or working from home."

"Using the full Cisco Collaboration suite within FusionStorm gives us the ability to interact much more quickly with our customers and business partners, either to design a solution or resolve an issue," continues Glueck. "Plus, it greatly increases the efficiency of our business in our core processes like interviewing and on-boarding new employees."

"It's great to see FusionStorm deploying Cisco's full Collaboration suite. Just as our global customers see faster, better communication with their customers, along with higher customer satisfaction and sales, we expect that FusionStorm will see the same benefits," says the senior business executive at Cisco responsible for all Cisco Collaboration products. "Our partners and customers also find that Cisco Collaboration improves their own internal communications, resulting in faster decision making that leads to operational expense savings across the business."

In addition to being a Cisco Gold Partner, FusionStorm holds the elite Master Collaboration Specialization—the highest company certification related to the Collaboration suite, which involves rigorous testing and auditing requirements. The FusionStorm Collaboration practice has tripled its staff in the last year and includes several CCIEs (Cisco Certified Internetwork Experts) who specialize in Collaboration, Contact Center and Unified Communications technologies. The team's ability to sell, architect and install Cisco Collaboration solutions at an elite level was recently recognized with a Cisco West Region Partner of the Year award in 2015.
