Comcast Celebrates Remodeled Headquarters in Downtown St. Paul

Comcast (News - Alert) is celebrating its multi-million dollar building renovation that has revolutionized the look, feel and functionality of the company's regional headquarters and call center in downtown St. Paul. The renovation of Comcast's 10 River Park Plaza facilities features brand new workstations and offices; open and inviting break rooms on each floor; sleek, modern collaborative work spaces; conference rooms with fully functional IT capabilities; a re-imagined product demonstration lab; a new, more conveniently located main lobby area, and more.

"The redesign of our local headquarters, call center and training facilities reflects our commitment to improving the environment, experiences and technology for serving our customers and supporting our valued employees," said Jeff Freyer, Regional Vice President for Comcast - Twin (News - Alert) Cities Region. "Comcast is a major presence in the Twin Cities market, and we want to be known as an innovative employer of choice by attracting the best and brightest talent with this state-of-the-art workplace."

Upgrades to the 10 River Park Plaza facilities include:

  • 700 new ergonomically designed workstations
  • An energy-saving 27-percent reduction in overall footprint due to efficiency redesigns
  • Open, collaborative office meeting spaces, with a variety of decorative settings
  • Wellness rooms on every floor for private medical needs, such as expectant and new mothers
  • Nearly 100 miles of new wiring and IT infrastructure
  • Lowered wattage lihts to reduce energy costs and light-related eye strain
  • Increased capacity for the company's regional Comcast University training facility

Comcast's downtown St. Paul facility houses the company's Twin Cities Region headquarters staff and a Billing Center of Excellence call center which serves customers across the western half of the United States. Other work groups in the building include customer, engineering, technical and IT support teams, as well as regional sales & marketing, human resources, finance, training, corporate and government affairs, and Comcast Business sales and support.

"As one of the region's leading technology companies, we're thrilled that Comcast continues to make important and significant investments in its infrastructure and people here in the Minneapolis Saint Paul Region," said Michael Langley, CEO, Greater MSP. "Their expanding array of products and services are keeping consumers and businesses across the metro area connected to the world of entertainment, information and commerce in new and exciting ways, and we're proud to have them as members of Greater MSP."

Comcast employs more than 2,000 people across the Twin Cities, with more than 700 professionals based at its St. Paul headquarters. Last year the company announced it would remain at its 10 River Park Plaza location due in large part to public transportation access and its centralized metro location.

In recent years, Comcast has invested in significant renovations and expanded technology at most of its Twin Cities facilities in an effort to better serve customers and provide a pleasing, efficient environment for employees. This includes the opening of a major call center operation in Minnetonka, as well as improved technical operations centers in Brooklyn Park, Mahtomedi, and Woodbury. In addition, the company has brought a new level of service and convenience for Twin Cities customers with the opening of six Xfinity Stores in Roseville, Brooklyn Park, Richfield, St. Paul, Woodbury and St. Louis Park.
