Spok Names Gunderson Vice President Development And Chief Technology Officer

Spok Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: SPOK), a global leader in critical communications, today announced the appointment of Kyle E. Gunderson as Vice President Development & Chief Technology Officer, effective today.

Gunderson most recently served as Chief Technology Officer and Chief Operating Officer at Minneapolis-based Quantum (News - Alert) Retail Technology where he provided strategic and operational leadership for all technology operations, including software development, product quality and IT functions.

"An experienced technology executive with more than 25 years of software industry experience, Kyle brings to Spok a successful record of driving growth through product strategy, technology innovation and development execution," said Colin Balmforth, president of Spok, Inc., "and we welcome him to the Company's management team. We believe his extensive software development and management skills will serve us well as we continue to expand our software solutions, capabilities and presence in key markets worldwide." Gunderson will be responsible for development and oversight of Spok's product technology.

Prior to Quantum, Gunderson was Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Operations for a business unit of Thomson Reuters (News - Alert) in Plymouth,Minn., which provides software solutions for audit, compliance and risk management professionals. Previously, he was Vice President of Product Development at Paisley, Inc., and from 2001 to 2005 served as Director of Technology Development at Lawson Software.

Gunderson holds a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin - Stout. He will report to Spok's chief operating officer, and will be based at the Company's offices in Eden Prairie, Minn.
