Speech Technology Magazine Presents Its 2014 Industry Awards at the SpeechTEK Conference

NEW YORK --(Business Wire)--

Speech Technology magazine, the leading provider of speech technology news and analysis, announced the recipients of its 2014 Speech Industry Awards in its Fall 2014 issue. The 8th annual Speech Industry Awards recognize the creativity and notable achievements of vendors, client companies, and individuals over the past year.

"Our Speech Industry Awards honor the best speech technology builders and buyers. Whether it's to improve customer experiences, company performance, or both, their efforts will undoubtedly shape the future of the speech technology industry," said David Myron, Speech Technology magazine's editorial director.

In total, 22 companies and individuals were honored in the 2014 Speech Industry Awards, which recognize key influencers (Luminaries), major innovators (Star Performers), and impressive deployments (Implementation Awards).

This year, Speech Technology magazine made some changes to its annual awards issue. To better cover the full range of market developments, we replaced our Market Leader Awards with our newly expanded Star Performer Awards, which recognize 15 of this year's biggest speech technology innovators. This change enables us to more deeply examine the industry's biggest trends, while also letting us recognize important accomplishments from smaller, niche companies.

There were some significant developments over the past year in mobile authentication, intelligent assistants, visual IVR, wearable devices, natural language, analytics, and mobile voice search. The 2014 Speech Industry Awards recognize many of these developments.

The editors of Speech Technology magazine selected this year's award winners based on their industry contributions during the past 12 months. The winners are listed below:

  • Jim Barnett, Senior Technical Director, Genesys (News - Alert)
