Ambient smart grid nodes certified for Verizon Wireless

Mar 19, 2013 (TELECOMWORLDWIRE via COMTEX) -- Ambient Corp. (NASDAQ: AMBT) said that all of the Ambient Smart Grid Node family is now certified on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network. For the first time, a high-speed, high-bandwidth communications network is now available to connect mission-critical utility and M2M smart grid applications.

Long Term Evolution (LTE) is the fastest growing and most advanced wireless network technology available, offering speeds up to ten times faster than 3G while providing significantly lower latency. LTE, an all-IP network, delivers the coverage and capacity for a fast, real-time connection that supports a larger number of connected endpoints and applications simultaneously, including video-enabled monitoring and control of grid assets.
