Jan 17, 2013 (AME Info - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- MORE BOEING 787 DREAMLINERS GROUNDED: More global regulators and airlines have announced they have grounded Boeing's 787 Dreamliner on safety concerns. US and Japanese authorities have ordered airlines to stop flying their Boeing 787s until they can show they've fixed a fire risk linked to battery failures aboard the Dreamliners. Airlines in Chile and India quickly complied by grounding their Dreamliners. In recent weeks Dreamliners have suffered incidents including fuel leaks, a cracked cockpit window, brake problems and an electrical fire. However, it is the battery problems that have caused the most concern.

AIRLINES REMAIN CONFIDENT IN BOEING'S DREAMLINER DESPITE JAPAN GROUNDINGS: Airlines in Asia, Europe and Africa have expressing confidence in Boeing's Dreamliner and said they stood by their B787 orders, after it was grounded by Japan's two biggest carriers for safety checks, AFP has reported. Both ANA and JAL said they would ground their entire 787 fleets for safety checks through Thursday at least. But ANA, the Dreamliner's launch customer in 2011, said it was sticking to its plan to roll out the plane across its fleet. It has ordered 66 so far.
