EB Rolls Out Navigation and Speech Features for VW Golf VII

Dec 21, 2012 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Elektrobit (EB), a developer of embedded technology solutions for the automotive and wireless industries, helped develop the navigation and user-experience features in the new Volkswagen Golf VII standard infotainment system, launched at Paris Auto Show earlier this year and currently available in Europe.

According to a release, Panasonic Automotive Systems developed the head unit as a complete system, hardware and software with EB providing navigation, speech dialog software and HMI tooling for the system.

Drivers will have access to EB's navigation offering that includes graphics for mapping and speech features.

"With the new Golf VII, consumers experience a new level of driving. EB software enables Volkswagen to offer the latest technologies in their vehicles fast and efficiently." Dr. Gabriel Schwab, technical project lead MIB at Volkswagen Ag explained that "infotainment systems like Volkswagen's new modular infotainment platform have become a major differentiator for vehicle manufacturers.
