BIA Releases Major Upgrade to TotalDiscovery.com Legal Hold Solution

NEW YORK, Aug. 21, 2012 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Business Intelligence Associates, Inc. (BIA), a leader in eDiscovery software and services solutions, today announced the release of a significant upgrade to the legal hold functionality of its cloud-based eDiscovery solution, TotalDiscovery.com.

"We are very excited to release the third generation of the TotalDiscovery.com Legal Hold feature," said Zachary Drummond, BIA Senior Vice President of Product Development, "We've included many new features, significantly enhanced existing features and a streamlined user interface focused directly on user feedback." Complementing the enhanced Automatic Reminder feature is a new Escalation feature that allows quick and easy escalation to a supervisor if an employee fails to timely acknowledge a notice. New Cross Matter Reporting gives administrators a global overview with new detail of active legal holds across all matters, greatly simplifying multi-matter management.

Another new feature enables legal hold categories and multiple holds per matter, which empowers organizations to deliver targeted legal hold notices that address the specific needs of each legal hold group. For example, one version might talk in terms more meaningful to a sales team, while a slightly tailored version would speak better to the unique needs of an executive team, all managed from a single unified dashboard.

Other enhancements include better status monitoring; a more user friendly audit trail that tracks changes to legal hold notices and related actions over time; an entirely refreshed dashboard that simplifies overall management; and a better user/custodian search feature that allows administrators to more quickly and easily comb through a large list of employees to add, edit or remove from legal holds.

"We recently announced that we made all of the legal hold features in TotalDiscovery.com, completely free," said Brian Schrader, BIA's President. "In a time when too many companies still struggle with the legal hold process, we're thrilled to follow-up on that by announcing the release of our third generation Legal Hold functionality. This further simplifies a once complex process and provides powerful new features, while keeping the feature completely free." The new generation of the legal hold features within TotalDiscovery.com are available immediately. New users can create accounts directly on the site and issue legal hold notices without hardware to purchase or software to install. Once employees are placed on legal hold, the advanced features of TotalDiscovery.com enable quick and easy data gathering. With a few simple clicks of a mouse, users can gather data from laptops, social media and cloud applications - like Facebook and Salesforce.com. This gathered data can then be quickly analyzed, filtered and exported to any legal document review platform.
