ERF Wireless Introduces GPS-Based e911 Solution

Jul 03, 2012 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- ERF Wireless, a provider of terrestrial wireless network servicing the domestic oil and gas exploration sector, has announced a GPS-based e911 technological advancement through its Energy Broadband subsidiary.

According to a release, ERF Wireless has implemented an e911 system that uses GPS coordinates, associated with the VoIP telephones being provided to the drilling site, to locate the appropriate 911 call center and to dispatch emergency personnel who are suitably GPS equipped to specific geographic locations rather than physical street addresses.

ERF Wireless CEO Dean Cubley said, "As our client base and network continues to expand, we recognize that from time to time customer emergencies may arise. We are very pleased to have deployed a solution to help protect the rig-site workers. This new development is just another example of our continuing effort to improve our products and services as we gain new business on a weekly basis and expand our networks to meet the ever changing oil and gas sector needs."
