Bullet time and explosive slow-motion firefights were the pinnacle of console gaming at the turn of the millennium, and now Max is back to relive the glory days, this time on Apple's iOS platform. But this isn't the slick third-person shooter gamers might remember - it's aged a fair bit, and the touchscreen controls don't ever quite compare to the quick flicks and button nudges on a console controller that used to have you working your way through each adrenalin-pumping set piece like a bad-boy ballerina. While the humorous noir comic-book storyline still engages gamers, what Max's mobile exploits will reveal is that Rockstar has come a very long way since this game was first released.
