Kettering University Will Inaugurate President Robert K. McMahan on Friday, April 20

Kettering University will inaugurate Dr. Robert K. McMahan as its seventh president during ceremonies in Flint, Mich., on Friday, April 20.

In honor of the inauguration, the University will host the largest and most important showcase of academic research and technology innovations in its history. Sixty poster displays are planned by faculty members and students during the University's special day, "Celebrate Kettering."

Kettering Provost Robert Simpson said April 20 will be a day of significance for the University. "This celebration will focus on the accomplishments of the Kettering Community and highlight the festive inauguration ceremony for our new president," Dr. Simpson said.

Ceremonies inaugurating President McMahan are 4 p.m., Friday, April 20, in the Kettering University Connie and Jim John Recreation Center. The event is free and open to the public.

The Research and Innovation Showcase begins at 2 p.m., Friday, April 20, in the Kettering University Campus Center. The event is free and open to the public.

"This is a wonderful opportunity to see the state-of-the-art research performed by Kettering faculty, students and student clubs; samples of instructional projects and services of the faculty and staff, outreach and other important activities," said Dr. Huseyin Hiziroglu, professor of Electrical Engineering and chair of Celebrate Kettering's Achievement Expo.
