M*Modal Hires Chief Information Officer

FRANKLIN, Tenn. --(Business Wire)--

M*Modal (MModal Inc. - NASDAQ/GS: MODL), a leading provider of clinical documentation services and Speech Understanding™ technologies, today announced that Chuck Musciano has joined M*Modal as Chief Information Officer. He replaces Kevin Piltz, who has resigned from the company and will work closely with Mr. Musciano for a transition period through June 30, 2012.

Mr. Musciano will provide strategic guidance to executive management and promote internal and external strategic IT policy and compliance relationships, as well as guide and facilitate all IT efforts, plans, projects, metrics and strategy throughout the company. Mr. Musciano most recently served as the Chief Information Officer for Martin Marietta Materials, a publicly traded producer of construction aggregates. He was responsible for leveraging Martin Marietta Materials' information infrastructure to provide significant competitive advantage across a broad range of business activities.

"Chuck will be an integral part of our team as well as instrumental in supporting our transition to technology enabled services and the commercialization investments underway for our Speech Understanding™ solutions. Similar to the other senior executives we have brought on board in the last six months, Chuck is accustomed to executing with a high level of intensity and velocity for large, growing companies," noted Vern Davenport, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of M*Modal. "I would also like to thank Kevin Piltz for his contributions and wish him well in his future endeavors."

Prior to joining Martin Mrietta in January 2005, Mr. Musciano provided executive-level strategic consulting to a broad range of clients throughout the East Coast. From 1997 to 2003, he served as CIO of the American Kennel Club. During this time, he architected the AKC's transition from a legacy mainframe system to a client/server Web-based computing environment. Using this platform, the AKC was able to re-engineer all of its principal business processes, reducing costs and increasing customer services as a result.

Mr. Musciano is a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology (News - Alert) and author of "O'Reilly's HTML: The Definitive Guide."
