WSI Max Traffic Builds Volume in Los Angeles and Miami Markets

Andover, MA, Apr 12, 2012 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) -- WSI (Weather Services International), the leading provider of superior weather data and graphics systems for the majority of US broadcast and cable networks, today announced that its WSI Max Traffic application had been well received by broadcasters in Los Angeles and Miami. WSI Max Traffic is the first and only integrated weather and traffic data solution on the market today.

Broadcasters can learn more about Max Traffic, by coming to the WSI Booth #SL6313, South Hall Lower, at the 2012 NAB Show, Las Vegas Convention Center, Las Vegas, April 16-19.

"Broadcasters want compelling content in their newscasts. By packaging and presenting weather and traffic together, WSI's Max Traffic provides a new way to add stunning, integrated visuals to reports and sets the industry standard for this new trend," said Bill Dow, VP and General Manager of WSI's Media Division. "Additionally, the seamless integration of weather news and traffic on one platform can improve a station's ROI by eliminating separate weather/ traffic systems and reducing separate weather and traffic hardware/maintenance costs." How It Works As traffic and weather are typically presented in sequential on-air segments, and as weather is often a driving factor in traffic problems, Max Traffic offers a unified, professionally designed interface with the same high-end look for traffic that TruVu Max now offers for weather. Partnering with Inrix, the world's largest traffic network, Max Traffic offers combined weather and traffic presentations that can, for example, provide reports on: (1) traffic flows and radar depicting heaviest areas of precipitation (rain or snow); (2) traffic and satellite imagery identifying areas that could present visual solar glare obstacles; and (3) the future state of traffic due to weather in a given geographic area using WSI's exclusive and highly accurate RPM (Rapid Precision Mesoscale) forecast modeling tool.

Featuring the same polished look for traffic as TruVu Max provides for weather, Max Traffic requires no pre-rendering. It provides a true 3-D environment with advanced special effects and offers the industry's highest resolution for earth and city models.
